I am excited to announce changes to our existing Accreditation Standards as well as a new Accreditation Standard for Problem Gambling Helplines.
The Standards have been revised into a new format which will allow for ease of use when preparing for your next accreditation site visit as well as applicability to a variety of specialty helplines including Online Emotional Support (Chat/Text), Reassurance Calling Programs and Problem Gambling Helplines.
The Standards are now broken into 3 different areas:
As community-based emotional support programs continue to grow and expand, CONTACT USA is committed to increasing topic specific Accreditation Standards in order to ensure high quality services and ethical practices. We are currently working on new standards for Teen Lines and Warm Lines and hope to have these standards available during 2018.
All centers with Accreditation Site Visits in 2018 will receive copies of the applicable Standards. If you would like a copy of the Standards, they are posted on the CONTACT USA website at: http://www.contact-usa.org/accreditation.html
